I chose Texas State because … I grew up around the Frio River and loved the friendly atmosphere and environment. When I visited Texas State, I found its small-town feel brought me back to the place where I had the most fun and hold my most cherished memories.
What I like most about Texas State is … the atmosphere. This is the friendliest, most relaxing place ever. I find myself to be at peace when I am here and absolutely enjoy just soaking I the environment around me.
What surprised me most during my first week of classes is … the speed of everything. I have been taking classes that would put me ahead of the game my entire academic life, and I could have never guessed that college would be so different than I imagined it to be. I was pleasantly surprised that although I wasn’t prepared for everything that was going to happen, I felt confident that I could handle the pace.
In five years from now, I hope I’ll be … working within the sports industry. I hope to find myself with a stable job that I enjoy. I also want to enjoy whatever time I have with my family, doing the things we love to do. I just want to go through life and enjoy everything that the world has to offer.
Favorite color: green. I haven’t really ever thought of why, but my birthstone is emerald. I think that I was always associated with the color green and that it just holds a special meaning in my mind.
If I were granted three wishes, I’d ask for:
1. a Lamborghini
2. J.J. Watt to be my best friend
3. the opportunity to own a house custom built for me
Pet peeves: overly touchy people, rude people, not responding to kindness, ignoring an opportunity to help people, when people embrace stereotypes, and basically everything that is associated with categorizing jerks.
Favorite book: Tears of a Tiger by Sharon M. Daper. My cousin introduced me to this novel and I thought it was so emotionally connecting. It’s a little bit simplistic, but the reality of the story is very connectable.
Favorite TV characters: I really like Barney from “How I Met Your Mother.” He is so witty and funny that you can’t help but laugh at every thing he says. Even though he can be a little raunchy at times, he is a lot of fun and everyone seems to enjoy his company.
Favorite music: I listen to a wide variety of music. I like a little bit of everything and I am not afraid of giving anything a try. However, I find country music to be very relatable and soothing. I can listen to country all day long and never get tired of it.
Favorite movie genre: Hands down, my favorite genre of movies is comedies. I love to laugh and I love to see other people laugh. I’m a genuinely happy person, so I will take an opportunity to laugh and smile because I think it truly does lift people’s spirits.
